🌱 Real talk friends. I have to be honest here and admit there's been a bit of guilt every time I've opened this account & realized the last time I posted, or thought about all the marketing I'm NOT doing, or the things I could be doing to grow my skills/improve things/change the world.

🌱 Sometimes I think we get too caught up in the perceived demands of our trade - that all of the beautiful IG creators we follow live perfectly styled lives, post naturally & effortlessly at the right times, and have everything figured out. It always feels like we are the only ones just sort of "winging it". I remember being terrified of disappointing my first customer, or being part of my first styled shoot thinking "Crap, I'm going to meet these amazing, talented vendors and they're just going to think I'm that weird paper girl. None of this is any good compared to their work - why am I even doing this?!"

🌱 ...and you know what? I went to that shoot to find that all the people there were just human beings. Human beings who run late, have feelings, lives, worries, hopes, goals, and dreams just like I do. And I felt so silly that I had put these people on a pedestal in my mind but you know what? We do it ALL the time (including me, even now) It's so easy to compare your camera roll to everyone else's IG feed and assume they have it figured out while you're the only one who doesn't.

🌱 It's been a time of healing for me over the last year, and this is something I've been wrestling with as I try to do twelve things at once. I'm realizing how important it is to be authentic and forgiving to ourselves. It's not about the perfect caption or posting frequency, it's about real talk and real feelings as we try to understand ourselves in this world while creating beautiful things. So if you got to this point, know that you may not find a regular cadence of content here. You may not even find anything that means something to you. But from here on out, you will find a genuine glimpse into part of my life. And I'll try hard to remember (and you can too, if you like) - we're all humans on the other side of the screen and we're all, just like many of our projects, a work in progress.

Lettering salon prices just reminds me I don't get my hair cut nearly as often as I probably should. Although let's be honest - I'm just there for the head massage and for someone else to blow dry my hair (anyone else's arms fall asleep?! 🙋🏻)

Tiny touch ups after finishing the price list 💇🏻 I have always wanted to film one of these and realized two things while filming this: one, I am SLOW, even at hyper speed! And two, I have horrible posture while i letter. I get hunched over and all scrunched up next to the board like I'm practically laying on it. It's pretty embarrassing. 😳 so instead, please enjoy me carefully cleaning off my sketch marks. It's way prettier, I promise.

Breaking out the pointed pen for some wedding invitation calligraphy - it was intimidating at first to pick up calligraphy, but after a lot of cringe-worthy practice sheets full of alphabets and random names, I've discovered my own style and it's less scary now!

This photo is fitting for two reasons today: first, it's #NationalDonutDay! Can we say best day of the year? I definitely can because today is also my two year wedding anniversary! This is our donut bar my sweet husband built for me at our reception.👰🏻💍❤️ I love being able to work with brides and grooms because it always reminds me of my own special day. We are taking an anniversary trip and leave tonight, so I'll be back in two weeks! Cheers!😘

New pens, rereading Harry Potter for the umpteenth time and needing to practice some names for envelopes all combined this afternoon to bring you this glimpse of my current workstation. This blue is so moody and I love it! And Hugo? Ron and Hermione certainly know how to choose a name. 💙

New pens, rereading Harry Potter for the umpteenth time and needing to practice some names for envelopes all combined this afternoon to bring you this glimpse of my current workstation. This blue is so moody and I love it! And Hugo? Ron and Hermione certainly know how to choose a name. 💙
